देख कबीरा रोया । Exploited Weavers Community, Barabanki, U.P । Documentary
In this tale we witness the exploited muslim weavers community in Barabanki district of U.P. The situation of the village is shocking. Children have no access to schools and families are weaving day and night, at times without electricity, on manual hand-loom only for about Rs. 80 a day (USD 2). Kerosene is sold in the black market. The only power hand-loom owner in the village says he has made a HUGE mistake, the machine won’t run, there’s no electricity. (Documentary in Hindi, English subtitles will be up soon).
